Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines essential terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities related to the rental. In cases of conflict between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To hire a vehicle from Car Hire in Poole, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with age restrictions varying based on the vehicle type. A valid full driving licence is required, along with identification and proof of current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are also necessary, along with any other criteria outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be completed via our website, by phone, or directly at our Poole office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The full payment and security deposit are generally required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, please conduct a thorough inspection and promptly report any pre-existing damage. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed by both parties. It is important to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was collected, allowing for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged as necessary. The vehicle should also be returned with the same fuel level as when collected; otherwise, refueling charges will apply. If you expect to return the vehicle late, notify us as soon as possible, as late return fees may be incurred. You will be held responsible for any parking fines, traffic violations, and associated charges during your rental, along with an administration fee.
Insurance and Liability Terms
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance included. The Rental Agreement outlines full coverage specifics and any applicable excess amounts. There may be options for additional insurance to minimize your financial responsibility. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for damage or loss up to the insurance excess, unless you have opted for extra coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance provisions.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies differ based on the type of booking and the notice you provide. For specific details, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited uses of the vehicle:
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or similar dangerous pursuits is prohibited. Transporting hazardous materials is not allowed. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is prohibited. Driving under the influence or using the vehicle beyond its intended purpose is forbidden. Adhering to passenger and weight limits is required. Additionally, driving outside the designated geographical area without prior approval is not permitted.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Poole will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will be limited to the amount you paid for the rental in the prior 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury due to negligence or for fraudulent acts.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect as soon as they are posted on our website. Continued use of our services indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
